Our Story
Family-Owned Ranching Tradition
Founded on a legacy of military service and wanting to restore ranching tradition, C-4 Cattle Co., LLC is a local family ranch deeply rooted in the Southern Alabama community. Our story of the Clark family is one of passion, hard work, and a commitment to preserving the values of family ranching. We believe in transparency and integrity, allowing our customers to connect with the source of their food and understand the dedication that goes into every aspect of our operation. Our mission is to continue the proud heritage of ranching while embracing innovation to ensure a sustainable future for the next generation.
Our family has always held a deep appreciation and respect for animals, recognizing their vital role in our lives and the world around us. This love for creatures great and small has blossomed into a commitment to ensuring the well-being of our livestock. One of our founders, Heather Clark, graduated from Auburn Univeristy with a BS in Zoology, where her love for agriculture took root. Taking that knowledge and pairing it with the hands-on experience gained from a veterinary medicine practice, sparked a pursuit to combine that knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the lives of animals and their owners. Here at C-4 Cattle, we believe that caring goes beyond mere responsibility; it is a heartfelt dedication to nurturing and providing for them, ensuring they thrive in a safe and healthy environment. Through this bond, we cultivate a harmonious relationship that enriches both our lives and theirs.
Having a child with medical issues who required fresh products was the catalyst for us to establish our ranch. We saw a need to provide him with high-quality, nutritious food that he could safely enjoy, which led us to start harvesting our own meat. As our neighbors observed our commitment and the positive impact it had on our son's health, they recognized that we were doing it right, especially since he has limited options. This journey has not only strengthened our family's bond but also fostered a sense of community as others began to trust our practices and support our ranching.
Caring for our animals during his years of military service as a US Army Ranger with 3rd Battalion revealed profound benefits that extended beyond companionship. The bond formed with our animals provided our founder, Jeremy Clark, with emotional support, helping to ease the challenges of military life and the transition back to civilian life. Witnessing the positive impact this relationship had on his well-being inspired us to extend our compassion to fellow veterans. By helping others navigate their post-military journey through similar connections with animals, we aim to foster healing and resilience in our community.
The values we've embraced and the life experiences we've shared have profoundly shaped who we are today. Each lesson learned and challenge faced has fostered a deep-rooted pride in our work, and we are excited to continue growing both personally and professionally.
